Scholarships and Freeships

Worth more than Rs 12 Crores for meritorious students

Manipal University, in partnership with many noble institutions, provide scholarships and freeships worth more than Rs 12 Crores for meritorious students every year.

• AICTE Scholarship: AICTE has introduced the scheme on tuition fee waiver for women and economically-backward and physically-handicapped meritorious students. Awarded to students of Bachelor’s programmes in Engineering, Pharmacy and Hotel Management.
   
• Maulana Azad National Scholarship: The Maulana Azad Education Foundation (MAEF) offers scholarships to meritorious girl students belonging to national minorities (i.e., Muslims, Christians, Buddhists and Sikhs).

• ISLE Scholarship: The Indian Society of Lighting Engineers offers two scholarships to the students of final year B.E (E&E branch) every year.
   
• ITC Scholarship: ITC Hotel Limited has instituted a scholarship worth Rs 3.5 lakh for the BHM students—
  for those who excel in operational subjects and for the best all-round graduating student.
   
• SBI Scholar Loan: SBI has offered to provide student loans at concessional rates to students studying in Manipal University. Loans up to Rs 7.50 lakh is offered, without any collateral, in the name of the student and Parent / Guardian.
   
• SBI Student Loan: SBI considers all students of Manipal University as preferential customers and provide Education Loans at SBI branches closest to their native places. Details can be collected from the SBI website.

• FREESHIPS: Candidates admitted to the MBBS course within the first 500 ranks, and to BDS, BE and BPharm courses within the first 1000 ranks of the respective merit lists are offered 100% freeship, on case-to-case basis.
   
• Scholarship for Konkani-speaking Students
  For all Konkani-speaking students, there is a tuition-fee waiver of 10% on admission to any course of Manipal University. For eligibility, a mother-tongue certificate has to be produced. The students should send applications approved by the Head of the institution. The applications should be submitted to:
  ‘Office of the Director, Student Affairs, Manipal University’.
   
• Scholarship for Academy General Education Colleges
  For all AGE College students, there is a tuition-fee waiver of 10% on admission to any course of Manipal University. For eligibility, the student should have studied in any of the following AGE college for a minimum of 2 years:
  — Mahatma Gandhi College, Udupi
  — Bhardarkar’s Arts & Science College, Kundapura
  — Bhuvanendra College, Karkala
  — Sri Mahaveera College, Moodbidri
  — Sri J.C.B.M College, Shringeri
  — Vijaya College, Mulki
  The students should send applications approved by the Head of that institution.
