About MCPIS
Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCPS) has research labs for pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmaceutics, pharmacognosy, pharmaceutical marketing and administration, pharmacology, pharmacy practice, pharmaceutical quality assurance and pharmaceutical biotechnology. Practical training in manufacturing pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, perfumes and cosmetics museum and medicinal garden is provided to the students.
In the last 40 years, more than 1000 research papers have been published and presented at various national and international conferences. The college has received research grants from CSIR, DST, ICMR, UGC, AICTE, DBT, DAE and pharmaceutical industries.
Research
Research in pharmacy covers broad areas of pharmaceutical sciences ranging from design, synthesis, testing and mechanism of action of synthetic and herbal drugs, through studies on novel drug delivery and pre-clinical and clinical aspects.
Clinical pharmacy services provided to the hospitals include pharmaceutical care, drug information, pharmacovigilance and poison information/ management.
