About CAMP
It is the hub of basic research in a broader area of atomic and molecular physics consisting of ultra-fast phenomena in atoms and molecules, light matter interactions, optics and quantum electronics, condensed matter physics, nano physics and nuclear physics.
Collaborations
Research
The Centre for Atomics and Molecular Physics (CAMP) has been carrying out research and development programmes in the area of laser and spectroscopy, with emphasis on development of diagnostic techniques to detect various kinds of diseases. The Central government has funded all our research programmes, including:
The centre has very active research collaboration with the many research institutes across India.
Careers/Placements
Photonics is a highly multi-disciplinary and applied subject. Increasing use of lasers, LEDs, optical sensors and opto-electronic components in modern, compact and fast devices further enhances the importance of photonics. Laser and photonics have already become the soul technology of many application fields like microelectronics, communication, networking, healthcare, defence, entertainment, astronomy, astrophysics and many more. The use of optical technology in the industry is continuously growing and expanding and so is the need for highly skilled photonic workers.
Job opportunities are immense
Entrepreneurship in photonics market, optical networking and communications, optical metrology, holography, ultra fast photonics, laser designing and fabrication, material processing using laser, optoelectronic devices, optical sensors and detectors, bio-photonics, atmospheric sciences, solar cells, defence research, education and business.
